An established piano teacher

"Hello, my name is Will I'm 21 years old and I’m a professional pianist, keyboard player, songwriter and teacher. I have been playing piano for 15 years and have been fortunate enough to be a self employed musician for 3 years now.

Alongside teaching piano, I run a successful function band that I have been playing up and down the country with at Weddings, corporate events and parties for 2 years now. I also regularly do session work for upcoming bands ands artists and have been privileged enough to play at various different festivals and Arenas (Isle of Wight Festival and Leeds Arena) to name a few. As well as this I've recorded in some of the most famous studios in the country such as Abbey Road. These have all been amazing life-changing experiences I will never forget, all thanks to playing Piano. It is a great passion of mine that everybody should have the chance to experience the joys and creative outlet of being able to play for themselves.

I studied Jazz performance at Leeds College of Music coming out with triple distinction. I believe that everybody has the capability to play and you're never too young or old to start! Don't hesitate to get in touch! "

Who can learn piano?

At New Foundry Studios, we teach piano to beginners of all ages and to advanced students too. You can study for exams with the London College of Music or simply play for pleasure.

We aim to have you quickly playing tunes. However, with your long term interest in mind, our teachers use advanced techniques which they skillfully adapt to suit you and the way you learn. Silent reading, memory training, pattern recognition and more, together with notation and ear training are all employed as appropriate to your needs, with the result that your confidence develops, allowing you to make good progress from the start.

Age related learning

Teaching piano to 4 year olds is very different from teaching older children, and teaching adults to play piano is different again. Consequently, we use different methods to target your learning needs effectively, regardless of age. Catering to the youngest piano students is quite specialist due to the relatively short concentration span at that age, and our piano teachers are particularly experienced in this area. We know which methods work best for young beginners and work together with parents to ensure a good learning environment is provided.

Based in Knottingley, we cover a large area, including Castleford, Featherstone, Knottingley and Normanton, with Leeds, Wakefield, Goole and Selby all nearby, and much of this area is within around 25 minutes' journey time.
My daughter has come on so quickly with her singing and mostly her confidence this is all down to georginas caring attitude to her students and commitment she makes my daughter feel like a star and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts. - Rachel Simpson, Weatherby
